Easter

The kids were excited to decorate eggs...We waited until Sam was asleep, not that we don't love him...but Sam and colored water never ends well. We did a little Easter lesson as we decorated then it was off to bed.
The kids woke up early...the Easter Bunny had just left...or gone back to bed. They found their baskets and the eggs. Sam found my basket first and made no hesitation in eating my candy.
In the afternoon we went to Grandma Donnas and had an Easter egg hunt and play with Cousins. They loaded up on even more candy.
It was a fun day.

First time Gardeners

SO we decided to plant a garden this year. Picked the spot and got it all ready. We even started some plants... The kids are anxious for things to grow.
We hope to grow tomatoes, strawberries, peas, black beans, lettuce, a pumpkin, watermelon, blackberries, raspberries, cilantro, onions, garlic and some sunflower seeds. Not too much for a first time is it? I'm am excited to have it grow.
We also pruned the apple tree...it looks like we stripped it. Might make for a good tree house if we don't get apples.!!!

Haircut

We did it.... after almost 6 years we finally cut Madison's hair. We've trimmed it many times but this time we cut at least 6 inches off. I think I know why my mom cut my hair...it is a nightmare to keep untangled. Madison really likes it- and I can comb it without snarls!!

Happy St Patricks Day

Jacob had to make a Leprechaun Trap for School. I guess the Leprachauns came while the kids were at lunch.. Apparently, catching a leprechaun is harder than you would think. We didn't catch one...just missed him. But he didn't get our gold!!!

A day at Temple Square

We took the tracks uptown and spent the afternoon at the Church History museum and Temple Square.

CHILE

We just got back from Chile.. We went to visit Carlos' side of the family and we had a great time. Carlos has 3 brothers-.along with them and their own families and tata and ita (gram and gramps) -20 in all. We all headed on a 10 day trip to the southern part of Chile...

Lake Caraburga. Beautiful!! It is surrounded by green lush mountains and the water was so warm. The kids enjoyed the swimming. I enjoyed the nice view and we all enjoyed being with family.
Madison is always ready to pose.
We went on a a paddle boat....my excersize for the day!
Did I forget to mention there was a volcano? Volcano Villarrica
WE also went to some hot springs.. Termas de Vergara.- heated by that same volcano. Awesome!!! they are in the middle of nowhere and by a river... there are 5 pools all of varying temperature....and the coolest one (around a nice 75 degrees) has a slide... the kids had a blast.

What a view!!!
By Pucon we did a little off roading!!!
And hanging around
and a little miniature golf

Outside of Villarrica we did a little canopy (zip line) fun...just me and jake.

And played at another lake!!!
AT the hot springs of Liquine Carlos did a little fishing
The kids picked mora.... which is wild black berry...it is so good.. I am convinced to grow some in my backyard...in chile it is all along the mountain sides and the sides of the roads in the south...we picked so much!!!
These hot springs were a little different.. they did have swimming pools- more like big hot tubs...but we found a sweet spot outside the area on the river itself.....a little pool right along the river with hot water pouring into in and then filtering back out into the river...it was so awesome.

Park Lota was another spot...a big park full of all kids of plants found in chile and right along the shore....very pretty....and very windy!!!!also by the park was an educational museam...here are the kids making big bubbles around them!!

WE also went down an old closed down coal mine...not from danger...just from bad business... it was pretty interesting. Not a job I would ever want.. the miners had to walk down 2 hours each day to get to work and then 2 hours back up...they only got paid for the 8 hours down in the mine....nothing for the other 4 hours getting to and from... You can see from Jacob light..if it wasn't on it is very dark....

After each day....we ended with a family game of UNO ATTACK!!!It was a great time and filled with lots of memories....
